Training class designed to provide financial management personnel with the skills needed to track and manage their
program financial data within the Comprehensive Cost and Requirement (CCaR) System. Training class will
include the CCaR roles and responsibilities of a financial manager, instruction on how to properly maintain
approved funding, create and update forecasts, populate and maintain their execution data, reconcile internal
position data with official accounting data and how to utilize the CCaR reports and tools to produce useful end
products. Hands-on exercises will be conducted throughout the training session to reinforce skills.
Prerequisite
Participants will need to complete the CCaR Essentials course or possess the following knowledge and skills:
- Know the purpose of the CCaR system
- Know how to log into the CCaR System and Change Password
- Know responsibilities within the CCaR system
- Identify the three main modules and the primary function of each
- Recognize the different navigation features and know how to use each of them
- Know how to locate the help file and demonstrate ability to navigate through the contents, index and search sections
- Know the purpose of a CCaR Requirement
- Identify the different budget types used within the CCaR System
- Know the available forecast types and the purpose of each
- Know how to navigate to the CCaR Execution window to display Commitment, Obligation and Expenditure information
- Differentiate between the different types of reports

- Describe the CCaR Financial Management Process
- Differentiate between the CCaR Budget Types and define the use of each
- Effectively populate Approved and Authorized funding and allocate to CCaR Requirements
