The CCaR enterprise software was modified in version 10.0.1.1 to comply with the Air Force’s Standard Desktop Configuration (SDC). The Air Force SDC is a first-time initiative that will provide every user with a standard operating system and improve network security. Air Force SDC will standardize all desktop PCs so every user using Windows-based computers will have the same set of tools. By adding another layer of network security, the SDC enables the Windows firewall and removes administrative privileges from normal users – this means users will no longer be able to add, update or remove PC applications.
