Job description:

IDS is seeking an Oracle DBA to set up and maintain production Oracle databases supporting DoD Enterprise financial system.

Responsibilities Include:

• Maintaining production and test database instances
• Managing interaction with the database and the operating system it runs on
• Incorporating RDBMS patches software upgrades
• Working with appropriate counterparts to ensure RDBMS backup and recoverability – documenting those processes
• Managing all aspects of RDBMS to achieve high reliability, high availability, security and acceptable performance
• Automating as much as possible the monitoring and management of the following RDBMS activities: space management, backup, recovery, performance and security
• Provide on-call assistance and availability by working off-hours if Needed
• Provide assistance to developers/data analysts in SQL creation and Tuning
• Evaluate hardware requirements for Database servers
• Working with application administration to install third party applications

Candidates must have 6 or more years of Oracle 9i/10g database administration experience, on Windows platforms. Solid knowledge of Oracle RDBMS internals, Oracle data access paths, CBO behavior, SQL, and PL/SQL design and tuning is required. Oracle Certified Professional DBA recommended.
