Job description:
IDS is searching for a Production Lead Oracle DBA. This position is responsible for maintaining policies, procedures and best practices for administrating CCaR production databases and providing direction and guidance to the CCaR field DBAs. This position is also responsible for supporting government certifications relating to the operation of a CCaR Database. This position does not directly supervise field DBAs, but this position does have authority to direct field DBAs. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Responsibilities Include:
- Maintains and adds content to the CCaR DBA Systems Manual to include
- Daily DBA tasks
- Weekly DBA tasks
- Monthly DBA tasks
- CCaR Database backup strategy and implementation
- CCaR Database system recovery
- Assist Government Customers with CCaR Database production certifications to include:
- Certificate of Networthiness (CoN)
- Approval to Operate (ATO)
- System Security Authorization Agreement (SSAA)
- Concept of Operations (ConOps)
- Compliance with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG )
- Assist and advises on the application of Oracle security patches on production databases
- Provides training and assistance to new field DBAs
- Assist with new CCaR implementations including
- Recommends hardware and software configurations
- Installs and configures new Oracle databases
- Establishes database links and DFAS/Other data feeds
- May Require Travel
- Assists field DBAs in troubleshooting and problem resolution
- Assists development team in compliance of STIG and assistance with deployment of CCaR software.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 8 or more years of Oracle 9i/10g database administration experience, on both UNIX and Windows platforms. Solid knowledge of Oracle RDBMS internals, Oracle data access paths, CBO behavior, Oracle RMAN, SQL, and PL/SQL design and tuning is required. Oracle certified professional DBA recommended. BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field required ( Degree optional if experience exceeds 13 years).
